Launched last week, a new IIE/DAAD publication looks at Global Perspectives on Strategic International Partnerships: A Guide to Building Sustainable Academic Linkages.
Drawing on my earlier work in international relations and international education administration, I'm delighted to have a chapter in this publication looking at stakeholder engagement and international partnerships.
In this chapter, I outline how successful international partnerships in higher education rely as much on effective internal partnerships as they do on engagement with external stakeholders. Whether these internal relationships are between faculty and administrative staff, on the one hand, or between staff in a wide range of administrative offices, on the other, it is clear that the careful identification and management of groups of internal stakeholders are now crucial to international partnership administration.
